Kids Activities
We want to make sure the kiddos have something to do so we will have the following activities during the festival:
  • Clover Maze: Make your way through our 2 acre red clover field maze and walk the Christmas trees on the way back to the pumpkin patch.
  •  Pumpkin Tic Tac Toe: Pull up a straw bale and battle the kids in a game of tic tac toe.
  •  Pumpkin Painting Station: Let the kids paint an ornamental pumpkin or one they pick from the field. The paint is non-toxic & washable. We will also have inexpensive stick-on kits for purchase for the parents who prefer their kids to stay paint free.
  •  "Grow with Us" Photo Op: Take a picture in front of our "Grow with JK Orchard & Farm" sign to track the kiddos growth from year to year as you visit the farm.
  •  Face Painting: Have the kiddos get their faces painted with fall inspired art. There is a small nominal fee.

Field Pumpkins

CARGO pmr
The perfect pumpkin for patches both big and small. Deep orange fruits average 20 to 25 pounds each and are slightly taller than they are wide. Strong, dark green embedded handles make carrying the attractive pumpkins a breeze. A perfect medium to large Jack-O-Lantern.

CONNECTICUT FIELD
This heirloom variety is a popular jack-o'-lantern pumpkin. Fruits are large, smooth and bright golden-orange, weigh 15 to 25 lbs. or more, and are slightly flattened at both ends, so they don't tip. Can be used for pies or canning.
FAIRYTALE
Excellent jack-o'-lantern pumpkin with a deep orange color and a dark stem which stays attached for a handle. The uniform, round, medium-large pumpkins measure 12 to 16 inches in diameter and can weigh 15 to 20 pounds. Has a delicious flesh for baking, and store for about 3 months.
MAGIC LANTERN
Uniform, nicely shaped pumpkins for jack-o'-lanterns. The dark orange fruit have medium ribbing, sit 16 inches tall, 12 inches wide, and weigh 16-24 pounds.
Pie Pumpkins
$2.50 each
AUTUMN GOLD
Autumn Gold Pumpkins have a deep orange rind, with slight ribbing.
The skin color develops before the pumpkin is fully ripe, making it good as an ornamental in areas that have early frost.  They grow to be about 8 inches wide and tall, weighing 10 to 15 pounds. Autumn Gold can be used as an ornamental or for pies.
CHUCKY hybrid pie
The first soft-shelled pie pumpkin developed in years. Exceptional size, color and shape along with strong, sturdy handles make these round, 2 to 3 pound, kid-size pumpkins ideal for small, easy-to-carve Jack o' lanterns. Make sure to keep some for pies, too, as the meaty flesh is fine-textured and flavorful.

EARLY SWEET SUGAR PIE
Fine-textured orange-yellow flesh makes Early Sweet Sugar superb for pies and canning. Averaging 6 to 7 inches in diameter and weighing 6 to 8 lbs., the dark orange pumpkins also make delightful small jack-o'-lanterns. An heirloom variety.
ROUGE  VIF D ETAMPES (CINDERELLA)
The beautiful fruits are deeply ribbed and somewhat flat. Normal size would be about 15 inches across and 6 inches high, but fruits can reach 25 pounds. Color is deep orange-red when mature. Thick flesh is sweet and moist with outstanding flavor. Ideal for pies, canning and freezing.
small sugar
Small sugar, heirloom variety, is even better for pies than its larger cousin Connecticut Field pumpkin. Described as a very prolific and handsome little pumpkin; usually size about 10"  in diameter & 6 pounds; skin is deep orange yellow. It is very fine-grained, sweet and sugary, and keeps well.
WINTER LUXURY
Makes the most velvety pumpkin pie you'll ever eat! Nearly 100 years later, we still rate this pumpkin among the best. It is medium in size being about 10" in diameter & up to 6 pounds, almost globe shaped and ripens early. The flesh is very thick, sweet and sugary and deep golden in color. An excellent keeper for winter use. An heirloom variety.

Novelty Pumpkins
$0.50/lbs
Warty Goblin
It's frightful and yet delightful. Heavily warted pumpkins mature to bright orange while the warts retain their green coloration for several weeks post-harvest. The hard shell fruits average 8 to 20 pounds each. Add a dark green, firmly attached handle to the novel appearance and you have a pumpkin perfect for kids.
Knucklehead Super freak
Whether you want to carve a Halloween jack-o’-lantern or just use this pumpkin untouched you will have a ghoulish monster to put out on your porch or doorstep. Covered with warty looking pumps, Knucklehead was bred as part of a series of Super Freak pumpkins that are meant to look creepy. Knucklehead is the largest of the series at 12inch high and weighing 12 to 16 pounds.
Cotton Candy
Unique all-white pumpkin. Even the flesh of this pumpkin is white, though it is not a prime variety for use in cooking. The fruits are nearly round, measuring about 9 inches and weighing 5 to 12 pounds each. Their smooth, glossy skin makes them excellent for painting and they have strong sturdy handles.

*Edible for soups and stews.
FAQs
Where is the farm located?
1345 Lutz Rd. Lima, OH 45801

Is there off street parking?
Yes, there is parking in grassy areas. In the event of a lot of rain the PYO maybe cancelled due to risk of cars getting stuck.

Is there a public restroom?
Yes, a port-a-john.

Do you accept credit cards?
Yes. Providing the Internet cooperates that day. There is a $10 minimum. Cash is the preferred method of payment. We do not accept personal checks.

How long will you have the PYO pumpkins this year?
Until we sell out or until October 21st, whichever comes first.

Are your pumpkins organic?
While we do our best to use only organic practices we are not certified organic. Pumpkins are susceptible to powdery mildew which cannot always be controlled by organic practices once PM becomes established a conventional fungicide has to be applied for control. We are working on a better IMP to prevent PM from happening so we don't have to use a conventional fungicide and can keep everything organic. The good news is with pumpkins, like oranges and bananas, you don't eat the skin so being organic is less of a concern as apposed to strawberries.
